Chelsea Steele verbally commits to Bridgewater College

The FSCI Phoenix announce that Chelsea Steele has verbally committed to play for the Bridgewater College womens soccer program in 2012. Bridgewater College is an NCAA Division 3 school located in Bridgewater VA.

Chelsea Steele is a goalkeeper that plays on the U18 FSCI Phoenix Orange travel team coached by Mike Hatcher. She attends Massaponax High School in Spotsylvania County Va. Chelsea states the following:

Its always been my dream to play soccer at the college level. After going on the campus tour, Bridgewater was moved to the top of my list. The campus was just a right fit for me. After meeting the coaching staff and all of the players I knew Bridgewater was where I wanted to go.

The U18 team had a scrimmage against Bridgewater College in late August. This helped Chelsea in the recruitment process. NCAA Division 3 schools do not offer athletic scholarships. However, Chelsea did receive a $20,000 academic scholarship. Technical Director Marcello Manzano states:

Chelsea is one of the top goalkeepers in the Fredericksburg area. The club is very proud of Chelsea’s hard work and dedication as a student athlete.

About the FSCI Phoenix
The FSCI Phoenix is a youth soccer club based in Fredericksburg VA. Founded in January 2009, the club offers a travel program, recreation program, camps, and clinics for players of all ages. The FSCI Phoenix has a college recruitment program that assists interested players with their goals of playing college soccer.
