U15 FSCI Phoenix Orange Win the Richmond Cup Tournament

The U15 FSCI Phoenix Orange won the Richmond Cup Tournament on Sunday September 4. The annual labor day weekend tournament was held at Woodlake Park in Chesterfield County VA on September 3-4, 2011.

The tournament format consisted of 4 round robin games. The team with the most points from the 4 games is declared the winner. The U15s finished undefeated at 4-0-0, scored 21 goals, conceded 3 goals, and had 2 shutouts. The 18 man roster contained all 16 players on the U15 Orange team roster and 2 players from the U15 White team roster.

This tournament marks the first 4 games of the U15 Orange team's Fall 2011 season. The primary objectives of the tournament was to establish continuity, rhythm, build fitness, and integrate the new players. This tournament was critical to preparing for the first league game on September 10th. The Orange team competes in a very difficult and competitive league, the VSLI Division 1.

The U15 program contains two teams in the boys 1996-1997 age group called the U15 FSCI Phoenix Orange and the U15 FSCI Phoenix White. Players in the 1996-1997 age group often float between rosters on gameday. The U15 program is committed to development of the top players in the area and faciliate opportunities for interested players to play beyond the youth soccer level.
